Eagle Nebula (IC 4703)This image shows one of my all time favourites: The Eagle Nebula (M16) The conditions couldn't have been worse to capture a deep sky object. M16 was very low, about 15 degrees and it was right in the huge light bell of the big city Essen. In the location I live, the Ruhr Area, we nearly have the highest light pollution in Europe. But even with conditions like this I have managed to capture the Pillars of Creation in a beautiful way. I hope you like it too!

After two weeks of testing and tuning my new 10" Newton this is my first picture with it.

Sunflower Galaxy (M63)Canon 60D 10" Newton ISO 800 120 x 60"
Some of you wanted to see M63 so this is the result. It's very hard to process this galaxy unfortunately I burned the core out but I hope you like it anyway.

Whirlpool Galaxy (M51) Canon 60D 10" Newton ISO 800 100 x 60"
This is the result of a short deep sky imaging session. Under lovely conditions (12 degrees Celsius) and a very clear sky I was able to shoot the beautiful Whirlpool Galaxy. M51 is a spiral galaxy that is interacting with NGC 5194 a dwarf Galaxy. Both galaxies are located approximately 25 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatici. Together, the two galaxies are one of the most famous interacting galaxy pairs.
